When most people hear the word they think of heated rows where voices are raised, accusations and names are thrown back and forth like missiles, no satisfactory conclusion is reached and the parties arguing end up angry, hurt and further apart and more dogmatically entrenched in their positions than before. This reputation isn't deserved arguing is just another aspect of communication, one that allows for there to be an exchange of ideas and for issues to be resolved in order for things to move forward.
